"...I agree with E - Truly a beautiful parable.

"The roots [of the Redwood Sequoia trees] end up being far away from the trunk and lay in shallow ground." What happens when life is relatively easy, everything is handed to us, everyone we spend time with agrees with us, and we base our testimony on men (family and friends)?

"[The Bristlecone Pines'] roots sink deep as well as wide into an inhospitable rocky dolomite soil." What happens when life is difficult and we are alone and forced to base our testimony on something higher and greater? Was it the adversity that forced us to seek deeper?

"It will only be possible to survive by having roots securely fastened… deep and wide on the rock and soil of Jesus Christ." Could the Bristlecone Pine have created deep, wide roots without the adversity of its location? Would its roots have gone deep if the soil provided sufficient moisture and nutrients near shallow ground?

Thank you for a wonderful parable. You have given me a lot to think about!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14686074269622549754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199633972689777295.post-55961781977922292212012-10-23T21:04:42.890-07:002012-10-23T21:04:42.890-07:00Powerful.
