302: SPIRITUAL INVERSION

Symbolic photo taken a few days ago of black trees without leaves/fruit, the shades of grey of the cloudy sky, and the Sun.

Those who live in Salt Lake City know that during the winter months we can experience what is called an inversion. An inversion is a reversal and deviation from the normal weather patterns and temperature. Instead of the normal cold air above and warm air below, the atmospheric conditions become inverted. The cold air gets trapped under a layer of warm air. This warm layer acts much like a lid trapping the cold air near the valley floor. This weather inversion causes fog and pollution to hover over the valley. What was normally warm is now cold, and what was cold is now warm. An inversion can lead to pollution, such as smog being trapped close to the ground, with possible adverse effects on health. Days go by without ever seeing the sun, only grey skies. Sometimes the light of the sun can penetrate through the grey clouds, but one needs to rise above the inversion to actually feel the warmth and see the sun.

Much like this weather inversion when warm is now cold, and cold is now warm, we also experience spiritual inversions. We read in the Book of Mormon in 2 Nephi 15:20 “ Wo unto them that call evil good, and good evil, that put darkness for light, and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” This inversion of good and evil causes a lot of “grey skies.”

All truth that come directly from God is Light. However, men quickly changes that into grey. Below is a simple chart showing how God's Truth quickly becomes grey when mingled with error.

Through our impatience, ambition, and deception we quickly loose the whiteness of God's Truth and Light. It is no longer authentic and exact but becomes increasingly false, dark, and counterfiet that will lead to chaos. If only we can learn to be more patient, less ambitious, discern better, and move forward with exactness. We have a tendency to mingle truth with error through our zeal and ignorance. We grow tired of waiting upon the Lord, and move forward in our vanity that we are doing the Lord's bidding. Zion will not consist of those who have ambition and zeal, but are patient and seek for further light and truth, and can discern that which is "grey".

Yes, things have flipped/inverted. Members of the church are now being excommunicated for trying to "preserve the restoration" even being described by their spouse as "a better person, and a more loving husband and father" ... yet on the flip side, we aren't excommunicating members for infidelity and criminal offenses.

Maybe I'm out in left field, but I don't think the last person to comment had any understanding of the intent of the original post. Which included some wonderful thoughts. It's amazing how words can be interpreted differently based on the understanding or lack thereof of the reader. This is a great example of the reason for the original post.

This lack of proper interpretation of meaning of scripture is why we need to be so careful. People will use scripture to support a line of thinking, even when that scripture has nothing to do with that line of thinking. The well read, but mislead will use this method to prey on those with less understanding.

One thing I do know for sure is that if some one calls Brigham Young or the moderate prophets the devil incarnate or is convicted of high crimes and misdemeanors without repenting, they will be excommunicated and justifiably so.

Unfortunately we all hear what we want to hear, and see what we want to see.

There are divisions and separations happening now. The first separation is the wheat being separated from the tares..And then next, the divisions among the wheat. The wise virgins will be separated from the foolish.
The difference between the two groups is that the wise have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived.

why would the wheat be divided? isn't the wheat by definition those that are on the path to understanding, regardless of their level. those who are mature helping those that are less mature. no matter what level, you are always at risk of deception. just ask scratch. never heard back in regards to an email sent to you the other day.

"virgins" = "wheat"
"whores" = "tares"

amongst the "virgins".. you have two groups: foolish and wise.

Ezekiel 34:22

22 Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.

Quite often Ephraim was known as Cattle. I beg of God to consider any of us.

While I agree there is a division happening and that the wise virgins are separating from the foolish as Christ taught, it is not because they have taken the 'Holy Spirit' for their guide as Joseph Smith (who was very deceived himself) said, but because they have taken 'Christ' as their guide and thus have not been deceived.

Only those who take Christ as their only guide will not be deceived.

Those who rely on the 'Holy Spirit' will always be deceived, as we see in every religion on earth, for people naturally assume that whatever feeling, thought or confirmation or even vision they have, comes from God and the Holy Spirit, when it usually comes from the opposite.

For Satan tells us what we want to hear, confirms to us what we want to be true and makes us feel really good about really wrong things.

Thus Christ said to only take 'his words' as our guide, as the truth, to prove all people, prophets, precepts and revelation by, especially to discern all false prophets like Joseph Smith who preached and practiced so contrary to Christ and has led so many astray, not realizing they have been deceived by what they 'think' is the Holy Spirit.

I know, for it happened to me too, until I took Christ as my guide and began to see through the deceptions.

Those who follow Christ may (if truly righteous) learn truth from the Holy Spirit at times but they wisely test and prove everything that comes from even and especially 'the Spirit', by the sure and true 'words of Christ, found in the Gospels,' which are our only sure guide against deception and error.

As Christ taught, Wise Virgins are the 'few' and rare righteous who follow Christ, it seems they have always been very rare, maybe 1 in 100 or 1000, while there are 'many' foolish virgins, those who are good and nice people but who are deceived by the Spirit they listen to and by false prophets and false precepts to support evil.

Both the Tares and the Foolish Virgins separate from or 'cast out' the Wise Virgins from among them, that is why the separation is happening. They don't like the truth that the Wise Virgins are teaching so they want distance from them.

We see this all the time now in the Church, those who are finding out about the truth and speaking out about it are cast out by the foolish virgins/leaders in the Church who are deceived and do not want to hear the truth, they like their comfortable and pleasing and well received falsehoods.

The Wise Virgins would like to stay among the Foolish and the Tares, as Christ did, in order to help try to convert them to the truth, but the Wise are almost always just labeled, ignored, feared, shunned and cast out, even by their own family, let alone by their friends and church.

I agree. Those who are doing the excommunicating and shunning are committing and supporting the vilest of evils themselves, yet they choose to not see it and so they instead judge/call those who are standing for truth as evil.

But there never was a 'restoration', for Christ's Gospel was never lost, it has been on the earth in full glory to live and learn since the day he died.

Many Christian Churches have taught his Gospel far better then Joseph and the Mormons ever have, though no church seems to have ever preached and practiced His Gospel in it's purity.

It seems all churches are grey and in an 'inversion', mixing both truth and error together to sound good and make money so their leaders can live off the people and grow their church, instead of teaching their members to give all their excess money directly to the poor and fatherless as Christ commanded.

It seems only very few rare people in the history of the world have ever studied and lived the pure Gospel of Jesus Christ, even the prophets of the Bible have most all eventually fallen.

I agree the Church is very inverted, but it has always been, since the day it was started, for Joseph Smith himself was a false prophet, mixing the truth with great errors and leading people to do contrary to Christ, the same as do LDS leaders today.

Those who stand for truth or for Christ and his Gospel only get cast out of the Church, for that it not what is wanted by the leaders. The Church wants you to follow and obey their prophets, not Christ. And it's impossible to follow both for they are completely contrary to one another.

We all must choose who we are going to follow. Christ or someone else.
