292: TEACHING TRUTH IN A DAY OF APOSTASY

These are words of Paul giving a solemn charge to preach the gospel in a day of apostasy. This newly released Bible video shows the ultimate fate of Paul for teaching the truth and crying repentance. Since the beginning of time, standing up for truth in this wicked world has never been popular, well received, liked, or praised. Instead, standing up for truth usually results in being mocked, ridiculed, falsely accused, cast out and ultimately "cutoff."

"I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."   Timothy 4: 1-8

  1. You know those verses you quoted are highly suspect to be written by unknown authors under Paul's name, thus more pseudepigrapha aka fan fiction. You might want to look into the history of the texts you study and accept as scripture. The texts have a history and the history is usually very different then what the texts claim.

  2. The entire Bible is considered pseudepigrapha depending on what "experts" you choose to believe. Nevertheless, the Prophet Joseph chose to include these verses in his inspired version of the New Testament.

    1. And now for any of you doubters to make you think real hard about not believing Joseph Smith consider these words:

    2. I think Adam T. put it nicely "choose to believe". I know people can view facts and still hold on to the feelings they have about reality.

There will always be those that deny facts and history, it is like talking like holocaust deniers or conspiracy theorists, just have compassion on them but always present reality to them, perhaps one day they will accept the truth.

  3. “History is the fiction we invent to persuade ourselves that events are knowable and that life has order and direction. That's why events are always reinterpreted when values change. We need new versions of history to allow for our current prejudices.”

Is the phallic a symbol of priesthood authority? I have noticed the Church office build has a phallic look too.
