392: THE SIMPLE "GIFTS" IN OUR LIFE THAT WE TAKE FOR GRANTED

Even though this video was created by a Christian Church on a really small budget unlike some Church Institutions that have the huge budgets to create their media initiatives, I think it has a great message.

May we put things into perspective and be grateful for the simple "gifts" in our life that we take for granted like our spouse, our children, clean water, electricity, food, jobs, transportation.. and yes (for some).. coffee. For me, just being alive is an amazing gift.

"I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another—I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants"

Wouldn't it be great to approach each day with gratitude for everything we experience. After spending four months in Haiti, I was so excited to have running water, electricity that worked, an all you can eat buffet, traffic lights that gave order to the roads, open yards with no barbed wire fences, garbage trucks so garbage wasn't thrown in the streets, and I felt safer than I had felt in months in downtown Miami at midnight. Going without really did change my perspective, but it has been a long time, and I've forgotten again.
